This bespoke fitted library features the perfect blend of artisan craftmanship, daily practicality and timeless luxury. The smart floor to ceiling bookcase wall unit transforms the formerly blank wall into an attractive architectural feature and focal point. The built-in wall-to-wall cabinetry design maximises vertical and horizontal space with closed cabinets at the bottom, display shelving with integrated lighting and a sliding ladder.
Premium painted finish with oak tops
Painted cabinetry paired with natural wood create the ultimate handcrafted home library. This high-end display storage unit is spray finished in Little Green Livid, a deep, restful paint colour which sits somewhere between green, blue and grey. Handcrafted natural premium oak veneer worktops on the lower cabinets are stained to match the internal cabinet finish.
The base custom built storage cabinets, which hide clutter and bulky items, have traditional shaker style doors with a delicate ogee moulding in the panel – a decorative trim which softens the classic 90-degree angle.
Our bespoke joinery experts cleverly constructed the unit around the doorway to the room. This space-enhancing design has transformed a standard entrance into a smart and seamless passageway. The made to measure unit was then finished with a wraparound cornice tying it perfectly into the room, as if it had always been there.
Custom sliding ladder elevates the bookcase
For this bespoke fitted library with high ceilings, we also incorporated a custom-built sliding ladder and rail system, also known as a rolling ladder. This glides smoothly across the built-in library cabinets to give easy and elegant access to the top shelves. Made in solid walnut, the ladder is a striking feature, while also being incredibly durable and stable. Black hardware was chosen to match the rest of the architectural ironmongery in the house.
