Bespoke by Acorn was commissioned to design, manufacture, and install a luxury, handcrafted TV wall unit for a prestigious property in Oxshott in Surrey.
Our client wanted a high-end entertainment and storage solution for their living room that would be a striking feature without overpowering the space.
The result is a custom-built media unit beautifully combines traditional carpentry details with modern luxury, with open oak shelving, concealed drinks storage and an asymmetric TV panel. It demonstrates how premium bespoke joinery can transform a living space into a functional masterpiece. Each element of the cabinetry was handcrafted to ensure a flawless fit that complements the architecture of the room.
Traditional craft for modern living
Our client wanted a classic look that integrated seamlessly into their property while providing highly functional storage, with a mix of display areas and cupboards.
The cabinetry embraces a timeless Shaker aesthetic, topped with an elegant cornice detail that bridges the gap between the unit and the ceiling. To elevate the traditional styling, the frame features a cock bead detail. This refined, raised profile adds depth, shadow lines, and an authentic period charm.

It features a dedicated drinks cabinet to store bottles and glassware. A seamless run of lower cupboards provides extensive hidden storage for media accessories, cables and household clutter. While oak display shelving provides an attractive visual contrast. The open sections break up the solid cabinetry and provide the perfect platform for our client’s curated decorative items.
Premium finishes and illumination
True luxury lies in the finer details. comes down to material selection and flawless execution The material and colour palette for this fitted furniture was chosen to create a sophisticated, contrasting look.
The main exterior structure was given a flawless, professional spray-painted finish using Little Greene’s Pompeian Grey—a deep, dramatic hue that anchors the room.
In rich contrast to the painted frame, the open shelving is crafted from premium oak veneer. These timber elements are treated with Osmo PolyX-Oil to protect the natural wood while enhancing its grain.
To complete the installation, warm LED lighting strips were seamlessly integrated into the oak shelves. This creates a soft, back-lit glow that highlights the display items and adds warmth to the entire living room at night.
